Gymballs – trialled and examined

Dura Ball Pro

The Dura Ball Pro has a 500kg burst immunity and will eventually deflate when pierced allowing the user time to get off, immensely shortening the hazard of accidental injury.

Gymballs withstand deformation below heavy cargo which means that receptive pathways are made throughout the entire range of movement. It is yet immune to wear and stretching.

Max Ball

The Max Ball possesses a 750kg burst resistance and {will} slowly deflate when punctured enabling the user time to get off, greatly reducing the hazard of injury.

Solely screened at the University of Newcastle, Australia this ball is originally produced for heavy free-weight coaching in a commercial surroundings. Its dimpled non-surface prevents the device from slipping when using heavy weights.

These appliances have been examined to determine product consistency and have diversely supported static loads well in excess of 4000kg with burst resistance to a load of 500kg.

This does not mean that the gymball is puncture resistant but it does offer protection from explosive deflation.  Burst resistance shows AOK Gym balls are planned to acquire a minimal of 30 seconds to {deflate} if accidently punctured.

All gymballs produced are pre-inflated and examined to withstand exceptionally low numbers of faulty balls. Over the past 5 years AOK have had a return rate of less than 0.2%

A gymball with burst immunity to over 500kg may appear extreme, however when stationary on a gym ball, the impact of your weight is more broader than your body weight. This is called impingement loading.

This can easily be two and a half times your body weight, so for an 80kg person applying a pair of 10kg dumbbells the impingement load could easily exceed 250kg.

Normal gymballs compress under heavy loads, the MaxBall maintains round shape below heavy loads.

AOK Gymball test

A 2 inch cut was made into the gymball with a sharp knife, simulating an object puncturing a gymball on the gym floor.

A 75kg person continued sitting on the gym ball, drawing the air to move out of it. After approximately 30 seconds, there was still sufficient air in the gym ball to hold the user, allowing them adequate time to safely get off the gymball without incurring injury.
