Reiki Meditation FAQ
As you may already know, Reiki is a new age healing technique that is based on ancient Japanese healing. Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words, Rei and Ki and these two words have the combined meaning of Universal Energy. Therefore, Reiki is an ancient healing technique that channels universal energy through the healer to the recipient.
As opposed to Western Medicine, Reiki is an all-natural healing technique that focuses on reducing stress, improving relaxation and removing negative energy blocks throughout the body. It’s very common for negative energy to manifest in the body as physical ailments and reiki actually helps to address the root of the problem to actually remove the physical ailment, rather than cover it up with medications and pain relievers.
Reiki healing also involves the 7 Chakras found throughout the body. In case you’re unfamiliar with Chakras, the 7 Chakra centers are the:
1. Root Chakra (at the base of the spine)
2. Naval Chakra
3. Solar Plexus
4. Heart Chakra
5. Throat Chakra
6. Third Eye Chakra
7. Crown Chakra (at the top of the head)
Chakras can be thought of as energy stores found throughout the body and that’s why they’re important in reiki. They receive the Universal Energy and when the healer places their hands over the chakras, they’re able to spread this energy throughout the body.
Reiki Meditation helps to spread healing energy throughout the body. It’s important to know that reiki meditation isn’t a particular type of meditation, but rather meditation is a practice that should go hand in hand with reiki healing. Recommended types of meditating for reiki include healing meditations or chakra meditations. To perform Reiki, it’s very important to ensure the body is cleared of all negative toxins to welcome the positive healing energy.
Try incorporating a daily meditation ritual into your reiki practice and you’ll undoubtedly notice a change. Realize that every new practice takes time to master and meditation is no different. They say that patience is a virtue so keep this in mind when you meditate. Meditation takes years of practice to perfect, but the benefits will start to show immediately not only in your reiki practice, but in other areas of your life as well!

Acid reflux is a torrid swelling of the esophagus triggered by a regurgitation ( or attempted regurgitation ) of the gut’s contents. It is a leading symptom of heart burn that effects roughly one out of every ten adults every day. The feeling of burning around the heart is sometimes known as heartburn and is one of the many acid reflux symptoms. The best way to get rid of the immediate evidence of acid reflux is to take an acid reflux tablet.
Though the root causes are typically unclear, maybe the most common acid reflux cause is a bad diet. Acid reflux occurs during digestion, when the gut churns up acid or refluxes it into the esophagus, causing a sensation of burning in the chest or throat. So if you eat too many highly acidic foods like tomato sauces and / or fatty, fried foods, the gut has to process a surplus of acid. Too much acid can push back through a valve between the gut and the esophagus called the lower esophageal sphincter ( LES ). Acid reflux culprits include but aren’t restricted to tomato based sauces, fried and fatty foods, chocolate, alcohol, citrus fruits, peppers, and caffeinated drinks.
Along the same lines as diet, overeating also causes reflux. When you eat too much, the gut can not keep up with the demand to process all the acids. So food gets backed up, and digestive acids infiltrate the esophageal valve to cause that unpleasant burning feeling targeted in the chest.
Also diet-related, another acid reflux cause is being overweight. There is a clear relationship between being obese and a notable increase in the occurrence of acid reflux. Many believe this is as the additional weight puts more stress on the belly and esophagus. This pressure has been known to open the lower esophageal sphincter ( esophagus valve ), when the valve should be closed. This permits acid to flee into the esophagus.
Other considerations that make a predisposition for acid reflux include smoking, use of alcohol, food allergies, certain medicines, and lying down after meals. As you can tell, the majority of these factors can be overwhelmed by practicing some behavior alterations. In fact, in numerous cases of recurring acid reflux, life changes are all that is mandatory in stopping heartburn from turning into a chronic disease. Don’t forget to consult a consultant before embarking on any treatment strategy.
